Ruins of Surmia Mission (minor spoiler)
The bonus quest to kill the flame keepers, is it working properly? We killed the brazier bearers and nothing.

A brazier bearer is not a flame keeper Let the brazier bearers open a door then you'll find the flame keepers.

Well I don't get this mission. I did it a second time for the second sword, saw them both flash on my screen, skipped the cinematic and wind up in Nolani without the second sword on the Surmia mission.
If I didn't have to follow that damned Prince maybe I could get it right!

Do the bonus while Rurik and Erol are waiting for you to go lower the bridge.
Also remember you HAVE to let the Ember Bearers get back to the gate and open it BEFORE you whack'em. The Flame keepers are past the gate to your left on a hill. It's the Flame Keepers you have to kill to get the bonus to update, not the Ember Bearers.

The gate the Ember Bearers come from isn't the one you go through. They walk across the map area to a gate on the other side.

Thanks! Did it tonight. I'd have never found it on my own. Plus, I think we must have killed the bearers the last time, because I remember seeing the flame they were carrying just floating in space on the path to the tar river. I thought it was odd at the time, but didn't put 2 and 2 together.
Also, I actually looked at the log for the mission tonight, it has 4 objectives, who knew.

Very few players actually look at the log to see the objectives. I know I don't I like to be surprised!

I have another question about this Bonus Mission.
My team went down into the tarpit ravine after leaving Rurik and Erol, and used ALT to track the NPC that gives the Bonus (Breena Stavinson I believe her name is). Then as we were about to approach her, she got killed by a named Charr right before our eyes! We couldn't even start the Bonus Mission ... which was pretty annoying as it was no fault of our own that we could tell.
Has anyone ever seen this happen? Maybe it was just a random occurence, and we're going to try the mission again tomorrow to see. But I'm wondering if anyone is aware of any time limit there may be to get to Breena before she dies so you can do the mission.
Any help? Thanks a lot.

I've never had any trouble with the NPC getting killed. Just bad luck? Since you know the way now I suggest hustling down there to keep her butt intact. It's the only thing I can suggest.

Yeah, sounds like bad luck. If you need any help on this mission, message me in the game (Asrial Novastar) and I'll come give you a hand.
